These are the generally accepted Port Modes, and their default behavior:
 
 
o A Hybrid port accepts both VLAN Tagged and Untagged frames, and egresses (untagged) the one VLAN matching its PVID.
 
 
o A 802.1D Trunk accepts both VLAN Tagged and Untagged frames, and egresses (untagged) all VLANs configured on the switch.
 
 
o A 802.1Q Trunk accepts VLAN Tagged frames only, and egresses (tagged) all VLANs configured on the switch.
